What remains of Christmas when you leave everything behind? 

That was the starting point of this year’s Portugal com Acnur Christmas campaign. 

Alfred reflected on what Christmas represents for a refugee. The absence. The memories of what it was. The sorrow for what it can no longer be. 

And the worst part? It’s not temporary. 67% of refugees live in exile situations that last for 5 years or more. Help can’t take that long.
